Question Carrera vs Carrera S - What's different?

Hi.
I searched and searched but didn't find anything that lists the differences between Carrera and Carrera S.
Any leads?

Thanks!

the S has the more powerful engine: 8 cyl vs. 6 of the base Carrera.

Ha!! Yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out.. what makes the difference in price?
Are there any suspension, engine, tranny, brakes, steering rack, etc. differences?

I think the S cars run slightly cooler at idle because they generate more shade

The 4S is set up a bit different, but the S is wider than the Carrera and thats about it. (I think)

Um...maybe for the Cayenne...

But for the 911:

Carrera 3.6L 6 cyl 345 hp/288 lb-ft

Carrera S 3.8L 6 cyl 385 hp/310 lb-ft

997.2.

If you're talking 993, as others have said, no difference other than more $$$$. C4S adds Turbo brakes.

To those who say there's no difference, I respectfully disagree. Carrera S is the perfect lady... 34-24-34... absolutely perfect. The Carrera is more 34-24-30... Certainly not bad, but not nearly as sexy!

Before the flames start... I'm kidding... My understanding is that Porsche had a large quantity of Turbo bodies that they needed to dispose of, so in 98 they offered only the S... It is a bit of a poser, I suppose. But, I do love those sexy lines!

"S" stands for "S"lower.

Top speed is 2 mph slower than the Carrera.

You'll get to your office 4 seconds later on the Carrera S, but you'll look good getting there.
