Yes, I agree. I would go with a nice 430 cab Scuderia. It would no doubt handle better and it truly does look gorgeous. IMHO of course.... LOL

Great thread.

It is interesting discussing values in retrospect. Afterall, these cars are in surplus of 11yrs old and are already considered classics.

Very valid points brough up by my aircooled brethren (clubsport1 among others) Btw, where is "Carrera GT" when you need him??? Not the car, the RL member .

My stake is not one of production numbers or collecability, but of appeal. Being a total airkuul freak, my jaw simply drops when confronted with a 993GT2. It is, as others have said, the pinnacle of Porsche aircooled engineering.

For me it takes 2 TurboS to a GT2. I would rather have one GT2 as in this thread than two TurboS:s (all else equal: mileage, condition, color etc etc).

I would also pick a 993RS Clubsport over a 993 Turbo S.

And I would pick a 993RS Comfort over a 993 Turbo S.

It would take 1½ 993TT over a 993 TurboS.

The 993 Turbo S is beautiful no question. I personally like the looks of the standard TT better. The thing is, the 993TTS make a great DD but since it has frankly all the options available it's so heavy and therefore not appealing to me. I would rather have a 993TT and mod it for the price difference (2wd, new turbos etc). Well, you get the point. I hope I havn't offended any TS owners, these are lovely cars no doubt but just not my cup of tea.

Funny, this thread is starting to sound like a part of my childhood at school, thinking about when I grow up and have a few million in the bank, I'd get a... It doesn't change.

[QUOTE=vhanzon;6402400]Great thread.

Ref. excess weight of the 993TTS versus 993TT - yep...thats down right. One thing that bothered me with the TTS - when it was alivet! - was the huge difference in weight of the Rear Spoiler! Openin and closing the engine lid, it felt and indeed it was "so heavy"..... - COMPARED to the enigne lid of the standard 993TT (my current car). It was like 5 times or more heavier than the TT. Whaaaaaaat a weight!

few months back, Porsche Garage supervisor, noticing my longing for the past 993TTS, asked me whether I wanted to add/replace the rear spoiler on the TT, with TTS spoiler - told him - many thanks - but I am resigned to all things light no this one!

Josh where are you when we need ya?
listening to all these school yard measuring sticks is a tad disheartening, I have TWO
993TT's and a 965T along with a few early S's, an M5 a cigarette boat among a few
other toys unmentioned.
Nun , let me say it again NUN gives me more pleasure than the 993TT /GT2 clone I'm
going at as we speak.
and I really care less it's not got the serial number,in options it's got it..
Pics to follow...
One other thing while I'm thinking about it..I certainly appreciate the OP's attempt at wowing us
mostly because it is imppressive but the owner of that GT2 in Kuwait (I guess) is more investor than
enthusiast ,because there's no way a car such as
that could sit in my warehouse or any where else for that matter without receiving some much needed
excersize!!
I do have a friend like this though and I'll not mention his name 'cause he's faily well known in S fla circles,he ownes one 965T(94) 2 993TT's,1 996T
a 996 GT2 and he's waitng delivery on a 997 GT2
if it hasn't arrived yet,and they all have less that 1500
delivery miles.
This is sacrilege I'm sorry ,investment or not these
cars were meant to be driven not stocked in the bank or storage somewhere, although many do it..
Just not I ... at least not entirely ;-)))) off soap box
thanks Bert

This GT2 has a 4 spoke steering wheel. That's it, screw the whole 3 spoke 996 wheel idea. The 993 GT2 had a 4 spoker and it is what 993 purists should want!

That shot looks like the aftermath of Daytona? Just guessing from how the garage looks...........looks like that was the class winner and 5th overall?

Nice to see, as we watch Sebring today.

And Jochen, I found those pics of your 964 cup from '93 Daytona I took and thought I sent to you. Would love to drop them off!

It's all factory GT2 stuff (some actually from the 95 GT2 Daytona entry) including the whells (Speedline for Porsche). There is an extensive thread in the 993 Turbo section. The engine is a 3.8 twin plug Andial monster
