The KLA brace, which I have, fits under the carpet. Seems to me would be awkward to drape the carpet over any of those with big vertical end brackets.

No affiliation.
I ordered one of these this afternoon based on all of my research on R'list. Seems to be a consistant favorite. I really like the no pivot point design. And I missed out on what appeared to be a genuine Ruf brace yesterday on eBay.

You're very wise to be looking into a strut brace for your car. As they age one of the issues that arises is the weakening of that area of the monoque. I purchased a very nice one from Porsche's race department many years ago. While you have to cut the carpet a little to accommodate it, it's not very invasive. Hopefully, you can make out the Porsche Part No. from the photo. It was on a pre-90 911 but perhaps Porsche made one for the 993.

I just installed a Perfect Power strut brace this evening. It fits very nicely under the carpet. It hugs right against the gas tank. And the piece itself is a work of machine shop art. It wasn't cheap but neither is nice jewelery and this piece is some nice car jewelery. To bad it gets covered up. Kind of like some other jewlery that is nice to look at.
