Default My 993s new stance

Just finished the second BBS LM conversion (2 more wheels to do).
What I did was I took the wheel apart and re-assembled it so that the center piece is on the inside of the wheel. This reduces the offset by 16mm, which brings the wheel and tire nicely right to the edge of the fender.
In the photos the rear is not settled yet, my ride height is about 1" lower than what the photos show.
I think it's perfect!!

Brilliant, that's a fantastic look. Wow.

May I ask the wheel width, offsets and tire size you are running, front and rear?

Have a set of Fikses in my future, and would love to know (see) what looks best.

Thanks~!

Did that to a set 20+ years ago! I think they were those goofy non-drop center racing wheels that you had to take apart to change tires, so I'm sure I was just screwing around.

When I had my 86 Carrera, I never got around to filling out the fenders.

Your pictures remind me of the b&w shot in Anderson's Performance Handbook of the NB Carrera with Turbo 9X16 Fuchs... umm, fenders filled with goodness.

Do your tires scrape the top of the wells when you go over a bump or a depression?

I don't know yet as I haven't had a chance to drive the car. It is a very tight fit but I don't think it'll rub.
I'm going to roll the fenders in any case so rubbing should not be an issue.

Thanks! The BBS LM's are 9.5x18" ET 55. With the conversion the offset is reduced by 16mm making them ET 39. The tires are Toyo Proxes R888 285/30/18. The R888's have VERY broad shoulders so this offset will definately work with regular street tires in 285 size.

I'll take some photos once the weather clears up and I have a chance to wash and run the car a bit.

From the pics, it looks to me like it's gonna rub, big-time.

I agree that in the photos it looks like it's gonna rub , but in real life there is just enough room for the tire to cave in. Plus, I'll be rolling my fenders AND I won't be running R888's (that have super wide shoulders) on the LM's anymore. I have two sets of dedicated track wheels (turbo hollow spokes and Kinesis K28s). The LM's will be strictly for street use.
