Another option is to send the ECU to Steve Weiner and have him disable the immobilizer and at the same time reflash the ECU....perfect excuse to for a perfomance upgrade since your ECU is already there

^^^^^Good idea. Get what "needs" doing and a little bonus to satisfy the "want" while it's there.

You can reflash a 96 ECU for performance ? I thought it was MY 97 and 98

I didn't know you could do that.

Back to the searches...

Frankly, the whole immobilizer thing makes me antsy, but I guess the easiest way to deal with it quickly is to disconnect the horn. But I've got to brush up on all this stuff before driving season.

I love my car, but this is truly its worst "feature" having to constantly muck with the door lock button on the car when it's been sitting for 30 seconds. I'll definitely go down this path after my wife forgets how much I paid for tires and a full alignment
