Folks,

Thanks for the kind words and kinder wishes. Even if the Ruf sells, I will still hang here. Friends are forever. No?

Pong,
I hope a Rennlister buys your Ruf, so it can at least stay in the family. Javier, you out there? maybe a 2nd to keep your other one company?

Anyway, Pong, you have to stick around to post your travel/photo threads, yes, friends are forever.

Best of luck!

PS, I agree with above, price is too low for that rare of a car. granted we are in difficult economic times, but I think that car should still fetch $70K.

Kika,

The travel-blogs will continue, but we are cutting way back on that as well.

The current price is for Rennlist family members. If I go on the open market, I will ask $74,950 OBO. That is the actual value indication I got from all sources combined.

I derived immense joy through my Renlist association. This is my way of paying it forward.

That is from TechArt: fog lights and brake duct inserts.

Glad to be of help.

Hey Pong, I think he was talking about the lower "grill" insert.

Mike,

I am confused. Isn't that the regular 993 bumper grill??? Mine is an Euro bumper and I don't remember anything special except for the TechArt inserts.

It's weird. I never noticed your bumper insert before 944/951 guy pointed it out. But I've never seen one like it before either. Here's Chuck's Euro TT front bumper (I hope you don't mind me using your image Chuck!):

And here's Bart's NB bumper with the bumperettes filled in (again, hope you don't mind, Bart!):

As you can see, yours is quite a bit different. Very cool. I just never noticed it cause it's surrounded by so much other coolness on that car!!!

It looks like you've got the same cutout shape as the NB bumper, with some sort of Ruf insert in there in place of the little bar that's in the rest of ours.

Now I'm totally confused. I thought I might have a 993 Turbo S front bumper. Now that has 2 large side brake vents AND one center vent. I have 2 larger side brake vents but NO center vent.

The mystery deepens. I will go home and check out my records and see what they say. Whatever the case, I love the look of my car.

Plus, it looks like your vents decrease in size as they go back towards the car. On the TT bumpers, they are just openings. Plus, the shape of that whole "grill" piece is more squared-off on the corners like the NB bumper, whereas the TT's "grill" is more circular at the corners. Hmmmm. OK, sorry to hijack your thread to discuss the mystery bumper, but thanks to 944/951 guy for pointing that out. And I agree... I LOVE the look of it!!!!

I must admit I didn't know much about your car before this post. Now that I'm aquainted with it after seeing all the pics and reading it's description, I feel your pain in selling it. Good luck with it's sale. It sure is an amazingly rare specimen.

Pong, I think you have the techart front grill as well. Look on the techart site, the red 993 on their site has it as well.

Pong:

As an FYI, yes the grill insert is a TechArt piece. As you may recall, the grill insert was sourced from CEC along with with the repalcement fog light / ducts.

Best wishes with your sale.
