Default Immobilizer Ignition Switch Nightmare

Howdy Porsche Fans,
I have a 1996 993 C2 Tip. When I take the key out of the ignition the immobilizer won't reset. From what I've researched the switch is not recognizing that the key has been removed. Now the car alarm is going off from locking and unlocking the door with the key. I have tried to do the "Emergency...deactivation of the immobilizer", but cannot get the warning light to come on so I can enter the immobilizer code. I did this before and it worked great.
Can anyone out there help me so I can avoid the tow?!?!
Thanks in advance!
Doug

Sorry to hear that. I hate the Immobilizer!!!

Make sure that you don't have any blown fuses. If a fuse is blown, the immobilizer programming may not work.

Try this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...rt-method.html

On page 2 there's some information about the preconditions that have to be satisfied before the alarm will accept the override.

Good luck!

Thanks Dave.
I went through the pre conditions. The #11 fuse was fine but I'm not sure about locking the door cause I have to use the key to get into the car. How do I lock the door from the inside? The console button doesn't appear to work when the alarm/immobilizer is blaring away.
Does anyone know of a good place to take my car for this in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area?
I called the dealer...$160 to look at the problem....possible $2700 to replace the ignition switch.
