Never heard of them, but there are many fine air-cooled mechanics in our area. If you need any recommendations, just let us know.

I think they mostly work on tuning and modding the newer stuff, but I could be wrong.

+1. If you're in the Valley, it would be hard to do much better than TRE:

I think that's the place started up by Dan who was the head mechanic at ByDesign. He has (had?) a pretty sweet silver 993 widebodied 964 speedster and also a PORSCHEV (914 with a small block Chevy V8).

They recently did a TPC on a 964...I'm pretty sure they got that running right so they should be able to help you out.

Talk to Dan over there, he will take care of you. He's a great guy and takes care of his customers. I'd personally take my Porsche to Pep Boys before going to TRE. A few friends of mine got the shaft so hard over there I'm surprised they're still alive. It's awesome when you pay insane amount of money then realize on the road that your suspension bolts are loose.
What kind of mechanical work are you looking to get done anyway?

Cheers!

^^^^ Wow. Let me say, no personal experience with TRE. I believe that they are a POC inspection station, which led me to expect competence.

Default Run don't walk from TRE

A reputation built over many years and sadly being deflated in just a couple.

Not an option anymore, ask me how I know.

Default Dan Aspeci..

Speed Gallery in Studio City. He is building a lot of Spec Boxsters. He also has a "sleeper" 944 with a Chevy engine. It is fast.

He has a very nice shop and show room.

I have never heard any bad stuff about him. Don't know details of his credentials. It would seem he has a loyal clientele.
