in answer to your question - PSS9s are a suspension system by Bilstein. they are adjustable (unlike the HDs) and a popular upgrade to the very poor monroe stock system. recently Bilstein updated the system to PSS10s so... the 9s are obsolete.

It is a major improvement in handling.

one overcast day in venice, near work...
the suspension has settled some & now is a bit lower
& an oldie but goodie pic (7am below mt. ridge rd.):
think chris walrod (his ol' track tool n.a) gave me a ding in this shot -lol blk bookends in da' haus
