I have the Techart brake cooling kit with the integrated light unit on my MY95 993 C4S, as seen on the Techart website:

The side/parking lights work on and off, and it looks like I will have to change both light units, or possibly the entire brake duct/light combo.

I've read on other threads that the light units are off a Mk3 VW Golf or Jetta, and that Techart mod them to add the side/parking light. Is this correct, and does anyone have experience with replacing only the light units on these Techart kits?

I think that answers your questions. Pretty easy to replace the techart lights with new Hella or chinese lights. Just need to drill a hole for the positioning light and glue on the pieces from your techart lights.
