Chrome engine fan ?
Ok Rlisters - after checking out the thread "show me your engine / fan", and since my alternator is getting repaired, and the RS pulley is being done, I'm going to mod the fan and fan housing.
I want something flash but not loud. The red fan, and purple fan looked wicked in the other thread, but we need something different. I was thinking for getting the things chromed for that mirror look. Anyone done this ? How do you think it will look ? Will it get chipped and scratched ? Or any other colour options we think might look good ?
Also - do VW's use the same fan ? Looked at some pics of VW fans and they look the same as the P-car versions.
Cheers chaps.

I would not.
It's finely balanced, and runs very close to the inside wall of the housing. Chrome will add thickness & weight.
If anything, consider thoroughly cleaning, prepping and then painting it.

Or just polish it to a nice, almost, chrome finish! I had that thought for a while but when I do that, I want to take the whole varioram and do the same to it. It won't stop from there either propably. And then, after a while it looks outdated and funny. I'll just take the burrs off and leave it alone.
