We are debating whether this should fall under "Chemical Stripper" or simply "Andreasing".

nile13: Here is what the Cayenne set looks like. The dead pedal is glued onto the vinyl pad; the others are glued onto metal.

Raptor, I might just try it. I'm utterly amazed that the pedals would hold with that much force beineg applied to them. And especially given that this stuff is removable. Wow. Thanks for this info!

Is Goo sold locally anywhere? Or do you have to get it directly from them?

nile: Shoe repair shop, big hardware/DIY stores. It comes in black, too. Use the clear. Worth a try for $7 and 5 minutes time. Be sure and hit the corners so the pedals won't rock over time. I've had zero problems (sort of to my surprise).

Raptor, I've read their site and FAQ and it doesn't appear that this stuff is reversible. In other words, I would not be able to remove the pedal pads once in place. Is that correct or have I missed something on their site?

Raptor: Does the carpet shift at all under the dead pedal?

nile: It is reasonably easy to use a putty knife to cut through the hardened goo if it is metal on metal. If it is metal on leather/vinyl you just need to be careful. I have used the goo to afix silver crests on CS, 993, and 996 steering wheels and have removed a crest from a 993 SW that had been attached with goo. I have also removed (and reinstalled) gooed-on crests on my wheels center caps'.

Nuff: The dead pedal area is vinyl on my CS and 993. The CS carpet has not shifted. I don't have a DP for the 993 (can't find one to match the others).

If you guys try it, let me know your thoughts. I used the goo because I have a history of measuring once and drilling twice (rather than measuring twice and drilling once), and I'm sure I would have screwed up a drill-and-screw application.

Speaking of which, Harbor Freight has the 92956 "Close Quarter Drill" on sale for $30 in today's flier:

To remove, just use a hair drier heat and work at it. I have also used the ShoeGoo to install SW and wheel crests, and for myriad other eclectic purposes, including repair of the arm rest inside bolt hole that always fails on 993s, and the toes of my motorcycle track boots. If you think it too hokey, then by all means measure and drill and bolt. http://www.biosafe-inc.com/shoegoo.htm
Did you use the Shoe Goo or one of the other products on the web site like ecoglue or e-6000?
Avail on amazon by the way
