Thanks for everyone's input. I struck a deal with a fellow Rennlister for a pair of H & R lowering springs he had available intended for a C2. For now I want to keep my stock struts/shocks and just get the car a bit lower so I believe this will work.

Make sure that's what you want. Even doing the install yourself, you'll need an alignment afterwards, why not do the shocks at the same time and avoid doing the job twice.
