Who has the batphone option?
It's pretty much useless other than nostalgia. It had to be the coolest thing back then though.
I plan in the future to remove the insert and replace it with a custom one that can house a 7" nav/stereo unit along with the stock switches. I will retain the original so that I can always go back to stock if I wanted.
So I am curious at how many out there have the batphone option like my car has? Has anyone else tried to do what I am thinking of doing?

I have it. It's actually sitting in my attic right now as it was replaced with the standard console by the PO. I had plans similar to yours at one point, but didn't follow through for one reason or another.
Edit: No, it's not for sale. Sorry!

I think it will be the coolest mod if done right. It's the perfect location for a 7" screen nav unit. I just need to find the time to sit down and it started.

No ashtray, I don't smoke so it doesn't bother me.
I wonder if Porsche told you back then that if you got this option you would lose your ashtray? I wonder if some back then opted out of the phone just so they could retain their ashtray?

I have the factory phone in my late'95 C2 coupe. I am considering gauge(s) - voltmeter and/or cylinder head temperature stacked in the phone opening and I bought the small Porsche crest from Sunset for the speaker grille. For $33, the factory crest is a neat item. I continue to look at other options and ideas for the console.
The phone panel can be removed and replaced with a custom leather panel made by an upholstery shop. Depth behind the panel and the slant of the dash is a consideration.
Does anyone know the price of the factory phone option and the option number? I think it might have been $3,795 for the phone and the option code may have been M694 because that's the only option code I can't account for and I have not found any option list with that code number.
