Default 993 Turbo Cab? - Spotted in LA

993 Turbo Cab. I know that there were only a couple of them ever made..and this one might be a clone...but, I was on the 101 North tonight around 7pm - right before the 405 fwy comes a 993 widebody cab from the Van Nuys onramp - pearl white - with a turbo wing and a license plate that says: 993TCab...Beautiful car with what looked like (from a distance) black tech-art wheels...sport seats and a black top.

Anyone here know that car? It's a beaut!

The 993 Turbo Cab was not wide-bodied, had the 3.6L single turbo from the 965 (aka 964 Turbo), was rear-wheel drive only, and had it's own tail that looked more like the 964's than the 993 Twin Turbo's. The factory made 14 of them. You might have seen one of those rare widebody conversions with a twin turbo tail. Someone posted a pic of one recently. Oh I saw a black cabriolet the other day in Manhattan with a 993TT wing and it had a Turbo badge on it--what a poser. I know it wasn't real. Then again I have a VW with 993TT wheels on it, so I should just shut up.

This. Flatsixes.com posted a brief article on these beauties.http://flatsixes.com/porsche-culture...actoid-part-3/ Porsche never officially made an air cooled turbo cab again after 1989, but Porsche agreed to make twelve (some say fourteen) special order 993 turbo cabs out of their Skunk Works.

Nice to see some enthusiasts here appreciating the look with the turbo tail. Seems not everyone likes the look of a cab with a wing. https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-1996-cab.html

Also, I wonder how much they're asking. The rest of their cars seem priced pretty steep by US standards. I couldn't find the Turbo Cab on their site. Maybe it already sold?

Mike! Bet you're right - may have sold quickly; good questions for Mannheim.

Per Foxman's 2009 link:
"there is one available in Germany for €89,500.00. In my opinion, these cars are severely undervalued."

From Autosalon-singen.de's "Porsche 993 Turbo Cabrio:"

Mike-- This 1 recently went for $1,400,000 USD at the gavel

Might even have the same interior color. Make a call & get someone to take comparison shots side-by-side in natural lighting, eh?
