Cool A genuine 993 Turbo Cabriolet based on a 965?

All,

Have a look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Porsche-993-tu...em230099260874

My French isn't good but it seems to be a 1 of 14 cars from Porsche. It could of course be a genuine car as Porsche can provide anything you want if you pay enough. The price certainly reflect it being genuine!!!

If it is, it looks like it's based on a 964 turbo-look cabriolet body. The intercooler is from a 965, it says it's got 360bhp so I'd be willing to bet its whole engine and running gear are pure 965. For me that's probably the only way it would have made any economical sense to produce this car.

Anyway - thought you'd be interested.

It could be. It's definitely a 993 body with a 964T engine stuffed in. Probably 2 wheel drive. The tail does not appear original.

The perfect example of how not to sell a car: over exposed photos, poor lighting, small pictures, minimal text.

According to the 993 reference I have at home, there were 14 single turbo factory 993 convertibles made in the 95 model year. This is probably one of the original cars. They are rear wheel drive and should have 360 bhp.

IMHO it looks hideous. It shouldn't do as I like the 993 cab body, love the speedlines but even so it just looks awful!

I've seen one of these genuine 993 single turbo cabs (pale yellow) but IIRC they did not have the widebody rocker panels....just had a normal narrow body with a 964 Turbo tail.

It´s the original Turbo 965 S Lightweigkt wing and should be original on the 993 T Cab Conversion!

These are real. I did some research on this years ago. I think the actual number was 10 made. They were all based on narrow body 993 Cabs and supported the last of the single 3.6 CIS motors. They were built without the good Dr's knowing.

Yep....it is for real.....R+T had an article on it way back when.....WW didn't even know they built them. All the cars were done by Porsche Exclusive.....and they were very expensive.

for sale at a Porsche Dealer - note the "Porsche Approved" sign on the nose of the car.
