Will these only fit Gillette? Will they work on Bischoff?

Mike,

They won't work on your car. You'll need the Bischoffs. The sound is spectacular, though. (And they're real.) << Lame Seinfeld reference.

Well here is what I have. I have a set of FisterD Stage II Gillettes. The big question is how much louder will my car be? I haven't even installed the Stage II's yet so I do not have a baseline from which to compare. I have a cab mind you so do not want a ton of exhaust note, just a nice rumble an a nice sound at WOT. Again I have a cab and do not want an exhaust system that drones out conversations and the radio.

Mike,

As we spoke and as a data point for the archives, I think your car will be too loud. My car has the first gen Supercups and the DACH X pipes, and it is incredibly loud on the inside and a complete aural assault inf you were behind the car. Your Fister's will quell some of that wail, but I think it's still going to be too much for your nice and civilized cab. FYI, I ran my Supercups with the stock cat and thought that that set-up was too much for the street.

I think the Stage IIs with the X-pipes will be a little over the top. The CAT X-pipes however, will reduce the risk of resonance and will be just right (IMHO) soundwise for a cab . If you want to fit Gilett X-pipes you need to replace the heat exchangers, which is doable. They sell for around 400 on fleabay and then you can sell your Bischoffs for equal amount of money, so no biggie really, just labour hours..

Viggo,

Why do you think the X pipes will reduce resonance?

I have the same exhaust as Mark and will second what he said about sound level. These things are awesome, but are not for street use.

I appreciate all the help. Just setting up the cab in my mind prior to getting started.

I wasn't being clear, I said that the CAT X-pipes will reduce resonance vs. the X-pipes without cats. I recently bought a set of RSR mufflers from a friend of mine who had them mounted on his 993 C2 together with a set of X-pipes without cats. He couldn't stand the resonance/drone. When he ran the RSR with Cat X-pipes the resonance/drone was gone. But he wanted to run without cats so he sold his RSR's to me .

Does that make sense?

Oh and I think an appology to the OP is in order. Sorry for the hijack.

What do the x pipes sound like with stock mufflers? Is that set up too loud for the street? I'm interested in something along the lines of a 964 with a G pipe. I was searching for a sound clip when I saw this thread.
