Would probably make sense to get whatever shims come with it - unless you can ID the ones you have. I seem to remember that they have small holes in them for this purpose.

Hmm. Looks like the TSB calls for both 0.5 and 0.7mm shims, as needed. Looks like our 1995 cars come with just the 0.5 shims (same part #), so perhaps ordering a couple 0.7mm shims wouldn't hurt.

Well lesson learned, the NAPA belts suck. Don't think they're actually bad belts, just all seem to be sized incorrectly. I put a Porsche belt back on the alt pulley and it is now plenty tight, where I could not get it tight enough before.
Another difference with the NAPA belts is that I think they are a different pitch, and they are also 10mm wide versus 9mm for the factory belts.
Also a note about those crappy hex-head bolts in the back pulley. I had two pretty rounded off - they will come out with a very tight pair of vise grips on them. There is enough clearance back there for deeper hex head bolts.
