Default Power bleeder

What power bleeder has the correct cover for bleeding the brakes. I need to buy one.

Thanks, Mike

Most here find the Motive Black Label bleeder to work great. The cap is a direct fit for most European cars. It's worked out great for me.

Here's their site: Motive Products

When I ordered mine from Motive Products, they told me to order the 0109.

Mike, if you have a compressor, I really like this one that I bought from Griot's Garage.

Power Bleeder

I've used it on Brembos with no issues.

The benefit to the Motive vs the other suction types is that it's impossible to suck air into the system. I was bleeding the slave cylinder, dropped the wrench, and introduced a ton of air into the system. I got the Motive after that episode.

+ 1.

I have used my Black Label no less than 20 times over the last three years, and on various 993s. I never fill the tank with fluid, but rather, use it for pressure only. No clean-up whatsoever.

If you have shop air, here's another approach to a 'no mess' DIY pressure bleeder .... link ... works great: all one needs is a spare reservoir cap and a mini regulator.

Just a reminder while I'm reading this, since I did this Saturday (sounds like I might be the only dumbass to do this). You have to pinch off the overflow hose on the back of the master cylinder when using a power bleeder or the fluid can get pumped out. It comes out of a hose hidden at the very bottom of the back of the left front wheelwell.

Almost everybody loves the Motive bleeder and if I did not have a compessor, I would use one as well.

The Eeziebleed was designed to use the pressure from one of the cars tires but I simply installed a QD and connect it to my compressor with the pressure dialed down ot 15 psi. I have used it about 30 times now as we have 3 German cars that all get the brake fluid changed every 2 years.

I bought it at IPD but they do not carry it any more. It is available here:

http://www.autoexpertproducts.com/eezibleed.htm

A good buddy of mine with a Volvo first turned me on to it. Works great! I borrowed it from him and promptly bought my own from IPD.

Oh BTW, the inspiration for the Eeziebleed came from Robin Suns' p-car.com site where he put his own together..

Cheers!

Oh very interesting, the overflow on the back of the master cylinder was deleted in October of 1995.

It is easy to upgrade the 95MY reservoir to the later style - try a search - I thought it used to be detailed on p-car.com/diy but I don't see it anymore. IIRC you need a 96-style reservoir cap and a clamp to clamp off the overflow hose. Very easy DIY.
