I have been experimenting with finishes on my stock tips after putting on big ovals. I did an RSR look first and currently have one flat black and one painted silver. Not on the car, obviously.

I've never seen chrome tips available for our cars, unless somebody started plating OEM tips on ebay or something.
However, I had chrome-plated ss tips installed on my custom setup recently. No idea how the finish will hold up.

Try Autosol. I don't know where to buy it in the US but it's really the best product for the task. Do a search on "Autosol" on the 993 forum and you will find pics and more info. GL.

Get a polishing wheel for your drill. If your tips are not too badly scratched, some ordinary metal polish will shine them up in a jiffy. If they're really pitted and scratched, you'll have to start out with a low grit (high abrasion) polish and work your way to the ultra fine grit for the mirror shine. You will need to buy polishing wheels for each grit since they can't be cross-contaminated.

I wet sanded mines with some fine grid sand paper (that really made a huge difference). Then I put a white polishing wheel on my dremel. I tried a few polishing compounds, the best one was the blue magic stuff sold at autozone. I did not have a drill at the time.
My tips were in terrible shape: bronze color, completely oxydized. I was thinking of throwing them away. They came out amazing. It was a fun project.
I took this picture afterwards, last year, pre-lowering. It does not do them justice. They look like they are chromed in real life.

I'll have to try Blue Magic.
