I looked... that's pretty much where mine is too. there's a carpet (that gray speaker box carpet) covered board cut to fit that "wall" under the carpet. The amp is mounted through the carpet to that board.

if you have the Hi-Fi option there is an amp under the passenger seat, if not, then the only amp is the internal head unit amp.

Okay I just ruled out the spare tire location as that is where I keep tools and the inflator plus the amp is way too big. In front of the gas tank is not great as that is where the orange safety deal goes. I'll have to consider a newer smaller unit which may give me some more options for mounting it on the side.
