I've never seen that one before and I spent some time looking last summer. I ended up buying the one that mounts to the passenger seat frame rail. The only problem with this new holder is that the cup is fairly far back but the one I have isn't perfect either.
I had this in my former 993. It definitely does not function as an armrest since it's so far back. The cupholder works well, but unfortunately it's BEHIND you. That makes it really difficult to use since you really have to turn to use it, taking your eyes completely off the road.
I have this one from the PO, and it's not all that great. As stated, too low for the arm, too far back for convenience with cups, sort of a PITA to open and close. Not a satisfactory solution for me.
I have the exact same one. For some reason, I never use it but its in my car. Seems like I always have bottled water, soda, and I put on the floor, tucked next to the passenger seat, to the right of the shifter, and Im happy. Before I ever get in any car, I have about 3 cups of coffee in me so I dont use it as a coffee cup holder. Dont use it as an arm rest either. Right arm, on right leg, in ball scratching position on the highway and open roads in the SLC Valley ---lots of wide open space in Utah!!
