What do you get when you cross a 993 with a 356?

It's not bad, IMHO, but I would probably like it better if the front end was less like an original 356 and more like a refreshed iteration, similar to what Dodge did to the Charger or how Ford dealt with the new Mustang. It feels like two cars from the same family are trying too hard.
Anyone know the definition of European Heaven and Hell?

It's growing on me, but I'm not quite convinced. It's like Volkswagon's remake of the classic bug. What if they did the same to the Karmen Ghia. These seem to be a reinterpretation of the classic 356. This is one of several Speedsters at this years 356 Bull Session.

Tania-- Thanks - I hadn't seen that. Crazy cool car if produced. However, current proportions are unusual for a rear-engined P-car. Plus, real-world may force the wheels to shrink ... while growing side-view mirrors.
I love the 356 Speedster's curves. To my eye, the new car in cabrio993's originating post does a remarkable job of keeping / updating those classic curves, while hinting at 993 design cues, too.
However, your above concept car could definitely grow on me. It's already classier than the modern Panamera prototypes!
FWIW: no 993 donor. I think the artist did that on a computer (amazing image, if so); no sheet metal yet. Same for this VW Bug update dubbed the 'Porschette,' but he'll build it on a customer's 997 C2S:
VW Cabrio look alike, 'Porschette'
V.A.G.'s Retro look..what do you think?
1965 Porsche Panamera. Kind of...

So I think the 997 is not going retro for Porsche but realizing that they had failed with the 996 and continue were the 993 had left...

Ever saw a thing called Porsche 997 with the round headlights and all?
I don't think Porsche can go retro since it really never has gone modern with their styling...

What do you get when you cross a 2007 with a 356?
In 2007, you could order a '356' with disc brakes, 911-type alloy wheels, sports exhaust, satellite navigation, iPod compatibility + CD, remote locking, alarm immobilizer, close ratio gearbox, rear seats with seat belts, etc.
... the Gmund Speedster by Tygan. Ltd to 20 orders; any color, as long as you like black or silver.
Another take on the 'modernized 356' concept.

Here's a variation in PA
993 headlamps on a 356 cabriolet. It's a shame that all the money spent on this 356 was not to restore it to original specifications. But, of course, people can do as they please with their cars and money.
