Default Retro look..what do you think?

What do you guys think of this? I would buy one if Porsche would come up with a retro car like this.

Cool but the wheels are to big for the style.

Actually, pretty cool with the exception of the wheel size. Too blingy. Hmmm....I would have to have a lot of money to justify it though. Not sure where it would fit in my P-car affair.

You can, though it's made by the French company PGO. It will set you back about 40k Euro. There is even a natural gas turbocharged version for the eco-type. I think it's only available across the pond, though. Porsche actually sued them for copyright infringement and lost.

I'd rather get a 356... If only Porsche would do a 2-3 year run of 356s with modern running gear. They would sell them all in a matter of hours.

That's a hot car- but it would NEVER stand the test of time.

WRT to the 356...how about these replicas? I was entertaining this idea before getting a 997...they look really nice.

Beck's are great cars, the bodies are made in Brazil, but they are the closest replicas to the 356 or 550, without paying the money for an authentic.

With 997 running gear and suspensions,--yes! I don't have a problem with the oversized rims, in this case. Clearly, it's an update of the venerable 356. That requires acknowledgement that there is something other than skinny tires out there!

Safety issues would alter many things, however, ultimately spoiling it.

when i first saw them, i thought "that looks like a french chip foose project"...i guess it is?

i could see getting a reproduction 550 / 356 but not one of these personally. of course, i'd walk across the parking lot to check one out.

Intermeccanica also makes a great replica.
