Is this how you avoid the SAI fault that triggers the MEL???? Would it work on a 1996 car???
I don't have the SAI fault yet, but if it's inevitable, I want as many options as possible to fix, and one of those options I hope is elimination of the system. If this is the way to do it I'd like to know.

Joe, great write up and working through all of the issues along the way. I am glad that my 'old' Varioram found a good new home.
A super job well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a V-Ram intake from a 96 C2 available if anyone is interested. It's still attached to a motor I bought to rebuild, but I don't plan on using the V-Ram when and if I get around to building it up.

What is the voltage required / going to the solenoids to activate. Since I am going to have to use an RPM activated switch to operate the solenoids (964 does not have two wires for flaps) I need to know the voltage limit?

I've got an extra 96 and up cruise control bracket if anyone is contemplating doing this conversion. Cost me $39 plus shipping from Sunset. Will sell for $30. The part is brand new.

Great write-up. I bought a V-ram with the intention of doing the same conversion to my 95, but never got around to it before I sold the car. There is a guy on the east coast that I sold my manifold to that does these conversions a lot for customers.
I will definitely do the conversion to my next 95 and your writeup will really help. Thanks!

Of course, I'll be glad to help anyone with identifying needed parts as I've spent enough time with these PET pages to be married to them
