Rufus and the Pacific Coast Highway (Pics)
Hi,
My daughter and I love the drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) south to Cambria. Eight miles north of Cambria is Piedras Blancas, the birthing colony of the Elephant Seal. Christmas through February is the birthing season, and we have a ritual to drive down the coast to visit the new-born pubs and spend some times in Cambria.
For the past 2 winters, my daughter had to work EVERY weekend, so we did not make our annual wintry pilgrimage to Cambria. Today she has a rare day off, and so we decided to go.
Steve (CA993Twin) and Rufus now resides in Santa Cruz, so we visited him on the way down. He was kind enough to drive with us to Nepenthe in Big Sur. We were lucky to get some motion shots of MIGHTY Rufus going down the PCH. What an incredible car.
The rest of the shots are just random scenic shots along our coast. There were only a few cubs on the beach, so the Elephant seal pics are kind of skimpy.
You might have noticed that we have superb weather today. When we reached Big Sur it was a balmy 63 degrees, and we have a shot of Steve in T-shirts (sans thongs) basking in the sun. For folks who are struggling with sub-zero temperatures, these shots are for you.
Enjoy.

Great photos. The best time of year to do that drive since the campers have gone off to hibernate for the winter and the roads are clear. Reminds me why I migrated to the West. Thanks for sharing.

Hello gang,
Happy New Year.
Having done this drive (in a borrowed Mazda pick up truck) was already awesome. Doing it it in a RUF turbo would be near heaven.
TOGA: I am wearing a short sleeve T-shirt as I type this... depends where you live in EU. Come down to Nice...!!
