Sorry I did miss it...
The 993RS is a bit softer than the 964RS but its not too far removed. Alot of is to do with the power steering, better rear end etc!
The are both very agressive though and a hoot to drive fast - The 64RS is much more of a handful round the track but not quite as quick as the 993RS. At the end of the day I think its a simple case of engineering progression making the car more usable.
As much as I would love to the 964RS is not an everyday car for most people...
