Default 98 C4s price check

Hello 993 guys,

I'm an 'ol skool 911 guy and not familiar with values of 993's. My friend is looking at a 98 C4S with 20k mi. for $70K. Seller says it's "rare". How rare are these? Sounds high to me but I really wouldn't know. Minimum details, I know, but let's just assume for now this car is a "10". Some feedback from those of you in the know would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am no expert here, but unless it has something extremely rare and with this economy the price is high. I tend to follow the trend of cabs and not the S models. Others will chime in, but I bet they say this is a high price.

1998 911 C4S Aerokit Coupe / $51,900 (1- 877-WEISSACH)
Ocean Blue Metallic with Cashmere/Black interior in simply beautiful condition. For all those shoppers waiting for the right 993 the search is over. This is a stunning car in appearance and condition, inside and out. Yes, it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. maybe even better. Options include Factory Aerokit, Stainless Steel exhaust pipes, Sport Seats, Motor Sound Package, Hi-fi sound package and the special chassis tuning. With only 36,000 miles it's an investment class asset.

Sorry, $70K is waay overpriced, in my opinion. You could get a 20K-40K mile 993 twin-turbo for about that much.

Whoa that is way too high. In this economy that is a 55 car tops. Now there were not many 98 C4S's made but that is no excuse for robbery. For that money you should be getting into the Turbo with low miles.

Waaaaay to high. I just bought a 98 993 Twin Turbo with 21k on the clock for 59k (Guards red w/ Tan). Plus i know of a 98 C4s with 40s on the clock for under 30k (blue w/ tan)

Recently, I've been the guy saying that the market price for good 993s isn't as low as some people are saying -- that the values haven't fallen as much as some here say they have and that the low prices we are hearing about are for cars that are either not that nice, in a slow market geographically, or are being sold under duress (or all of the above).

This car is overpriced.

I just read in Excellence Maganize, their new price guide for these cars. Even though there is a lot of debate around here when it comes to their pricing, they suggest $52K for a car in excellent condition.

TTOversteer, you will get many opinions on this board, and you know what they say about opinions... If your friend likes the car and is willing to part with the money, then it's worth it to him.

Everybody always thinks their car is worth more than it really is. The owner of that C4S must be really attached to his or not seriously considering selling it at that price.

You're certainly right, but you left out that at this price he must be happy to over pay for a car.

The 98' C4S under 30K with that mileage is a buy, unless the thing is in poor shape. Where is that car listed?

Not everyone wants a turbo over a C2S......but i can't see getting a C4S over one.

$60K tops.
