HID--Intermittently Lights do not turn on when hot
I installed the Xentec HID kit last weekend and everything went great (or so I thought). The issue I am having is that one of the headlights will not "ignite" if the headlights have been turned on in the last few minutes.
Both of them turn on immediately and work as expected when the car is cold or has been sitting for more than a few minutes. Sometimes they both turn on immediately even if they were just switched off. But probably every other time I turn the headlights on when they are hot, just one of them ignites. It seems completely random as to whcih light ignites and which light does not--which leads me to believe it is not a wiring/connection issue.
Does anyone else have this issue? Coudl my ballasts be defective in some way? I did search for this issue, but did not come across any similar problems.
Thanks.

I have this exact problem from ebay HID's with the mini ballasts. But it only happens on the passenger side. I can just flick them back and forth a lot pretty fast and eventually the passenger side will work. This generally happens if I take the car to the store, buy food, and get back in the car and it won't come back on.

OK...glad I am not the only one with this "issue." Is there a solution (maybe a different balast) or just one of the quirks of 993 ownership that we learn to live with (and love).

See the post by pp000830 entitled: (I don't know how to a copy a link).
"Installing HID headlights on 993 - The Gotchas"
It's a recent post so right now it's on the first or second page of the 993 forum. Great information.
