Where do you get the imobilzer code? Should it be in my owner's manual somewhere?

 

Any dealer has it to you if you do not have it in the documentation with your car.

Good questions!
I believe I did it with the ignition active - it must work when the car is immoblized as well.
Be sure to turn it on but not to start and off tostop where all the display lights cut out.

I got mixed up off-on vs on-off in steps 3 through 6

another dumb question comes to mind:
After step #6 if you're going to program remotes, am I correct in assuming that, within the 1 minute interval, you turn the key to "ignition on" position to perform the programming of remotes, then turn ignition off when finished?

I'm confused: At the end of step 2, the key is in the on position, but step 3 instructs you to turn the key on-off the appropriate number of times. The key is already in the on position after step two.

Ed, I, too, am confused. After entering the last proper code, the key is off but, supposedly, the light in the clock will flash? It says to begin encoding the new remotes but the key is still in the "off" position. Will the encoding take if the ignition key is "off"?

 

The cycling of the key in steps 3 through 6 involve the key being in the on position and cycling it off and back to on for the proper number of cycles so at the end of step 6 the ignition is on.
After the warning light flash in step 6 turn the ignition off and you are ready to use the car.
Good point the On to off and back to on cycling is not clear in the templatre.
I have now updated the form to make it clear.
