Mark, just kidding.

On the sunhect:

Two guys talk to a priest, trying to resolve a dispute:
- Father, is black a color?
- Yes, my son, I think black is a color.
- Father, is white a color?
- Yes, I think white is also a color.
- See, Bubba, I sold you color TV, just like I said.

Much has already been invested that a new owner wouldn't have to (for the most part) worry about.

With the same amount of money, you could easily purchase a lower priced '95 with the same or lesser mileage and no new clutch and no top end rebuild completed, and then bare all of the cost of those repairs at a sooner than later date OR you could consider this one that is a '97 with all of the work done as well as some basic mods...Tough decision....

Maybe negotiate a little bit downwards? Most '97s without any work done are still in that price range. I have seen very very few that are under $30k with that type of work already done.

With that taken into account, the price seems reasonable.

Hey wait a minute, I sound like I'm the seller..... Back to the show...

I've been seriously thinking about something as I look out the window at a 993 cab that I have not driven fro two weeks. What could it be worth? Not that I'm really planning on selling it, but it would be an interesting data point.

The car is '95 with 139K miles (27K of them are mine, I'm 3rd owner). New roof, new clutch, new RS light flywheel, new plugs, Recaro Speed front seats, Bilstein HDs and H&Rs, corner weighed and aligned, short shifter. Roof converted to manual operation. Exterior has a few deep dents and the interior carpets are not in great shape. In other words great daily driver, but as John D. once said looking at it: "Mike, you really should enter it in a concourse". Not sure if he was joking I also have Momo wheel and hub, Ultimate pedals, FPB and and few other little things that are not installed on the car.

So, what could it be worth today?

I don't want to derail this thread, but could you please PM me the name of the shop that did your top end for $5425? Worth the drive to Carlsbad for that price...

and you'll still have money left over to stay the week in a hotel on a pseudo-vacation or better yet to spend on more mods...

I was referring to Registration Black. Yeah, that's it.

With a top end refresh?
It's a non-varioram.
Not a fair comparison, IMO
Without the top end refresh, new clutch/flywheel and Bilstein HD's, maybe $33,000 is high, but with all of the extras, I think it's priced well for a '97 C2.

Disclosure: I am not the pricing guru.

Mike,

WAG, but maybe low $20,000's at best?? It's a '95, miles are high, cab hurts it and it's winter, but you have some good mods. JMSO (just my stupid opinion).
