Car rides way too rough after Bilstein HD/M030's. May have been a bad choice...

Funny: The above picture is from Paris, France---same train station I will be departing next June to Amsterdam after lounging for a few days in Paris. 3 days in Paris, 3 in Amsterdam, and then a flight from Amsterdam to Venice (Lido) for a wedding Im in for another 3 days of hanging out.

Oui. It is Paris.

I've always figured the first two words out of the engineer's mouth were "Sacre Merde!"

Have you been to Venice before? What a cool place...

Nope, been to Europe several times but not Venice. I was looking at train stations to depart from the Gare Montparasne (spelling???) and that picture was on the history page.

The wedding is at the Westin on some little boat ride island called Lido--its going to be a very nice wedding.

But there are... it started sleeting tonight as I headed out to Georgetown (Downtown DC) wishing I wasn't driving the 993. My gut reaction to weather like this is to take the BMW if I have a choice because if I total a car in icy weather, I'd much rather not lose the Porsche. In any case, the happy ending is that I switched on my new windshield wipers and was blown away by their amazing ability to remove the rain/sleet from the windshield. 4 weeks ago when I had my old wipers on all I would get were huge streaks on the windshield and awful to no visibility. Also, I finally called Steve Weiner today and said to keep the tire pressures at 36R 34F. I had figured because the ride is so stiff that it was closer to something like 41R 36F but it wasn't - it was exactly as Steve said... 36R 34F.

I hope none of my posts have suggested that Andreas did anything wrong in putting these suspension components in my car as he certainly hadn't. He was beyond meticulous with it. My mechanic spent most of a day with the car, drove it, and said it was well done.

I've made an appointment for Thursday to see my mechanic again to raise up the car 1/2" (or to ROW Sport) so I can get into the driveway easier. Also I'll ask his opinion on my current tires and to see if I should get new ones (Sumi HTZ or PS2's or the new Bridgestones). I plan to keep the car for now as you guys have scared me away from MB S55 ownership, plus, after driving the car all day today, I'd truly miss it. How many times have I read a post of a guy that sells their 993 for whatever reason and then posts later about his deep regrets. This car is gorgeous and verging on a classic. And, it IS nice to have 2 cars to switch back and forth between depending on mood and situation.

Montparnasse I think is the spelling.

Lido is the beach island, across the bay from Venice. Try to spend as much time as possible in Venice.
Just wander around. It's truly amazing.

The entire trip sounds great. Have fun.
