Pix of My Trip (Laguna Seca)...Finally
The rain is here in the Great Northwest and I now have time to play indoors.
I took my trip down I5 from Portland and headed toward the Northern Calif coast from Grants Pass, OR.
I camped the first night at the Giant Redwoods near Crescent City, Ca. Impressive trees! I felt like an ant.
The next morning, I took off down Hwy 1. It was the most perfect winding highway for the 993, with ocean views on one side and hillsides/farms on the other. I was the only car for miles, as the sun drifted toward the horizon.
As I pulled into the Porscheplatz at Laguna Seca, there were already over 100 various Porsches to behold. On race day, I would say there were over 200 Porsches, perfect weather, and a good crowd. I was fortunate to hook up with quite a few fellow RLers Mark, Darin, Terry, and Jason (who won the furthest drive award from Dallas, TX.). I even got to meet a great couple from Portland in their 944. BTW, I highly recommend the camping option.
I then headed down Hwy 1/101 to LA-LA-Land to visit friends and family and some more fine RLers from the Southbay area. You know who you are!
I took I5 home in one shot and got nailed by the CHP just before the Oregon border. Oh well. They do offer online traffic school, fortunately.
I ended up putting 2,550 miles on my baby, all the while with the sunroof open and grinning from ear to ear. I never did get tired of the drive. It amazes me.
Now, with the incessant rains, the car will get some rest and an oil change in a prep for my trip to the Bay area for a Stage III mod at FisterD's ;-)
I'll be taking the same route.
Anyway, on with the pix...Enjoy!https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/burnout.gif

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I've taken that trip (not Laguna Seca) many times from Vancouver Island and never tire of it, with the exception of I5. Great shot of the CHP officer, sorry about the circumstances.

Great pics and story. I got nailed years ago heading S from OR to CA in the 993 by the Oregon HP, just 200 yards N of the border. Nice meeting you and agree on the camping routine.

Great shots, thanks for sharing. Looks like it was an awesome trip.
It seems like a long way off, but I'm really looking forward to Laguna Seca next Aug. The 993 has to be the ultimate roadtrip car.
