As a follow up to my comment, Vertex replied to my email today and will rush out a replacement bulb assembly and apologized for sending a DOA. I went with the 6000K so i don't blind oncoming traffic.

Installed my HID kit yesterday, bought on eBay from the source recommended by others on this board (fjt2000). Pretty simple, really. Had to Dremmel one housing, but not the other. Retaining clip hinges are deformed a bit, but usable.

Great results. Went with the 5000K color.

....almost like one of these. Sold it last year though, didn't get enough riding time on it, thought it should go to someone who would put more miles on her. Did make a trek up to Canada for one of the MOA rallies on her though. She holds a lot of camping gear, but it seriously cut down on the mileage.....and the pickup. Brakes sucked though.

Default trash bag talk

Ah, airhead PD; the best. They sure handle nice. But at least you didn't spend a fortune on Speigler brakes before you sold.

Siemens kit also requires some Dremel action for the bulbs to fit. The ballasts also have to be located in the trunk, or fender area.

Hey Vern , I've just received Aceparts HID kit (with sidelights) and I'm hoping it's going to be an easy fit! If you get it installed let us know how you get on please.

These instructions, posted by Aceparts, may help in fitting. http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t...t=hid&start=24

I ordered my kit in March this year. The ballasts were not slim enough to fit in the headlamp & I didn't want them "wedged" behind.

So I followed Alan's instructions & pushed all wires though the big grommet (plenty of lubrication required) & mounted them on the inside of the inner fender (wing for Brits).

Wire for the earth can be fixed to the conveniet earth stud in the trunk. Wire for the 12v +ve is taken into the headlight via a 3rd notch & connected directly to the 12v +ve. This avoids any splicing into the multi plug socket.

Hope this helps.
