Question Porsche Factory Battery Charger Question

My new car came with this Porsche charger. I will revret back to using my Deltran Batery Tender Plus once my other car goes home with its new owner. When I opened the box there were no instructions on the usage of this charger. Anyway, my question is this, I plugged it into the lighter socket and pushed the mode button to illuminate the car icon. The charger light at the top is illuminated on the battery icon that looks 1/2 full. I am assuming this light is indicating a 1/2 charge and the one on the right (once illuminated) would indicate a full charge. Am I correct? I do not have any instructions. I have had this pluged up for about 24 hours. Any help, as always, is appreciated.

Mike

I have the older type w/o the buttons, but it is just plug and play. You may leave it in indefinitely as it will stop charging automaticly.

Thanks. Am I correct in assuming the 1st battry light is showing 1/2 charge (or charging) and the battery icon next to it on the right shows completed charge? Thanks again.

Yes, I think that is correct but mine only has a red on/off light. In typical Porsche engineering they added more features and doubled the cost.

the "!" means there's something wrong with the battery, the "1/2" battery means it's charging. And the full battery means, well, I think you can guess that part

Thanks. I would of , but I didn't have one. I appreciate the help. I always want to be sure instead of making assumptions. Thanks again Chuck.

Mike: I velcroed mine under the rear of the driver's seat with a coiled extension cord stashed under the seat, too. Whenever I pull in (if I don't plan on driving it the next day), I just pull the cord and plug it in the wall. No problems in years of doing this. Also, keeps stuff off the garage floor, wall, etc. Seems to be a decent tender - I'll see if I kept the paper work. I use BatteryTender for my bikes, but am so damn **** I had to get a Porsche one for the cars. That is OCD behavior!

Raptor:

Good idea. I may use the P-car charger. You know it does say "PORSCHE" on it so it has to be good.
