Thank you for your input. I will sign up as a member and post a picture as soon as I get the car cleaned up. It’s polar silver with 18” Fikse wheels just like Justin’s.

Tim, I might take you up on your offer after I get the car insured and have driven it a bit more. You will be the first guy I will contact if I decide to go the original route. With any other exhaust upgrades, I will need to keep my cats to pass the emissions test, unless I switch back just before the bi-annual test.

I didn’t think anyone would notice but I was over zealous with the mileage. It’s only 1000 km from Calgary to Vancouver. I would have gotten a few speeding tickets if I drove the way some suggested, but we did have some fun on the way home.

Cheers,
Anthony

Is that the car in Calgary? Saw it listed for a while on several P-car forums when I was looking for my car. I think it went down to $35k Cdn recently for a Canadian car. Looks like a good bargain esp w/ all the add-ons.

Enjoy the car!

Wait 'til you use the Supercups with a cat bypass. OMG, the sound is incredible. And incredibly loud from behind.

Don't give up yet! I think you will be VERY disappointed when you pull the Fabspeeds and put the stock mufflers on.
There are solutions to the resonance that most experience in the 2500-3200 range.
A few threads have been posted on simple modifications that place one or 2 "flow-plates" (using that term to describe the various manufacturers). These are perforated disk(s) on perforated pipes that act to alter the sound waves without increasing back-pressure. Search and you will find.
IMHO it makes the Supercups enjoyable for street use - and I have a cab with a RSD so there's a lot less insulation between the driver's seat and the back of the car.
On top of it all - even in a fully insulated car, my head would have been ringing after 7000km!

Just in case you do decide to change your exhaust, I am probably the guy Tim Moffat said he knew who is looking for Super Cups and wouldn't you know it, I too am in the Vancouver area.

let me know.

Thanks.

Just to clarify a bit, there are differences between the early fabspeed supercup mufflers and the newer models. My first generation set-up has rudimentary baffles, whereas the newer versions are pretty-much straight-pipes. One of my friends (SLV993 may chime in) has a very similarly set-up car. We both have supercups and fabspeed bypass pipes. However, he has the newer version and his car is much more obnoxious than mine...

I thought it was the other way around, Glen. The first gens had no baffles and are completely straight pipes and open. The later ones have welded-in perforated tubes that quell the wail a bit.

Ditto on the <3K drone. I love mine though. My problem is that the neighbors, my wife and the local police don't share the love. I got a ticket for "unnecessary noise" last summer! My stock cans are on the way to Robin as we speak for an RSR mod.

I have a set of first generation Supercups. The baffles are removable ... and in my case are! The later ones have the baffles affixed to them.

Yes, the previous owner is a great guy and he races vintage 911.
