Everyone has an opinion, but my understanding is DAS just uses whomever is available. So you might get really lucky, you might not. My Celica was delivered by them FILTHY and with a dead battery.
InterCity (whoops, edit...had Interstate before), advertised in Panorama and such, has a great reputation here. I used them from CA to NY. Their truck had a flat lift (race car style) and flat levels inside so no car was unduly loaded in a weird way, they had hardwood floors in the truck that were spotless, the guy literally put on white gloves before he even touched the door handle of my car. Once in, he put on 3 covers and gave me his cell phone number. I called him a couple of times en route to check up. We arranged a drop off time and he beat me there. I told him I think I loved him. He took as good care of my car as I would have...I can think of no higher compliment. No affiliation, yada yada. They were $1000 more than DAS for cross country.

Demoise is the best.5 star service for about 2/3 the cost of the the big guys.I know for a fact they will be on the West Coast around the 20th of October. They are picking 2 cars up in Monterey and taking them to North Carolina for a freind of mine
I justed shipped my 1960 Mercedes to LA with them a couple of months ago.

For what its worth, had good experience with innercity, they DO NOT use a terminal system, so your car gets loaded and if you are lucky stays on the truck till it gets to you. With a terminal destination, it goes from place to place and sits in a lot waiting for another truck to come along and take to the next terminal. The last carrier I used was terminal based and even though it was driven in an enclosed carrier, ( so they say ) it was filthy when it got here and looked like it had been road hard and put away wet.

I had an Ariel Atom shipped from the US factory in Oregon to Pittsburgh. They recommended Hog Haulers, who specialize in Harleys. They do cars, too, and did an excellent job. I've dealt with three or more other firms, and Hog Haulers was the best for communication, intelligent drivers, and handling the details. I believe Brammo, the original US manufacturer of Ariel Atoms, used them exclusively at the time.
I would also recommend against DAS based on my experience getting a Ferrari to Pittsburgh from Seattle.

InterCity: no problems, no filth, arrived a day or two EARLY, was "reasonable" (~$1100 Denver to SF).
