But....I'm sure you will be able to sell it for a much higher price in Europe and find a good one here for a lot less.
Not to hijack the thread, but... I'm thinking of going to Europe for 3 months next summer. I'm seriously considering bringing my 993 cab with me. At the end I'll either ship it back or, perhaps, sell it there.
What do people think? Crazy? Semi-crazy? Worth doing?
More to the point, I'm considering a home exchange. My though s that someone would be interested in a condo on the water in Boston in exchange for something in, say Madrid, or... I'm open, actually. Maybe even a car exchange, although I'm thinking that it would be harder to do.
Thoughts?

Thanks so much everybody for your kind words
I have for now to understand all the insurance stories and what will be the cost/budget for a guy coming without any history (driving / insurance).
We will have to buy a first car quite rapidly than I will look for a car for "fun" (ideally I would like to keep driving on race circuit with a "reasonable budget").
Step by step

As the moving of the car is long (couple of months), a little bit complex (several forms), risky (damage on the car + taking of all the liquids: gaz + batterie + oil + ...) ... process. You have to be at the reception (hotel + refuel everything). Before selling your car in France, you will have to change several things (miles/h => km/h; lights, ...) and get a paper from "la DRIRE" that will officially state that your car following the europeans laws. Honestly, 4/5 months easy for the end/end process.
Even if your car will be cheaper ($=>€ currency), your bumpers will not be appreciate (so you will have to change them), if you have an automatic gears it will be extremely hard to sell it (not appreciated here) ... etc
The market is really tied and it is a very long process to sell a car, especially a porsche ... even more a porsche with no historic in europe (france). So unless you plan to sell it with a very good price I will encourage you to rent a (fun) car during your stay and keep your car in the US.
