when dropping the car to row height, do you use spindles?
have u ever heard of someone using spindles when dropping the car to get proper alignment?

I have heard of it, but mostly on trucks and suv's. I haven't heard of it for 993's, but I am certainly no expert.

On the earlier, pre-964 911's, below a certain point you had to raise the spindles of the struts to allow for proper suspension travel and to correct bump steer. On 964's and 993's, you install RS tie rods and uprights, which accomplish the same thing.

That's if you're going looooow! RoW height is not at all that low, and absolutely no problem getting good alignment specs. FWIW, I'm a bit lower than RoW and have had zero issues these many years now.

As Noah says, spindles(steering arm attachment points) are used thru '89 911, uprights w/ the attachment point are used for 964 up.
At RS height or lower you need them, the goal is to keep the steering arms parallel to the ground to minimize bump steer.
