My Kirkham 427 S/C Cobra
A few Rennlister's inquired about my polished aluminum bodied Kirkham Cobra that's almost coming out of its hibernation. I bought it new from Kirkham about 1-year ago, had the engine built about 6 months ago and the car is being aligned today and may be released from the shop this week or next. Yeah!
The engine is an all-aluminum 482ci FE engine dyno'ed at 601HP with a TKO600 5-speed, aluminum rear end and billet aluminum suspension. The complete car with engine/tranny and a 1/2 tank of gas weighs in at 2,150 lbs. In the future, I plan to change from a carb to a weber-looking FI system.

That is incredible. I particularly like the vintage looking Halibrand wheel/tire combo used instead of the huge 17" Halibrands with monster low profile tires favored by most builders these days.
I hope the wood steering wheel in some of the photos is the final version, not the black rimmed wheel.
Love that car! Congrats.

And about the steering wheel...oh, you betcha. Those pics were taking as the car was getting ready to be shipped from the factory in UT. The wood steering wheel is now there in place of the black rimmed one., Good catch by the way.
For many of the others that are looking at this thread, I started another thread asking for opinions on a local 223,000 mile '97 Cab. Since i was pouring money into this car, my budget was impinged, though I still want/wanted to find a nice 993 too.

Clearly you have excellent taste in automobiles. Those Corvettes are bringing stoopid money these days. If it was a 993 trade, it could be 993TT + cash maybe.
I've always liked the idea of a Cobra (or a friend with one). Never thought of polished aluminum. Seems like the way to go...definitely not for the shy wallflower type!

I bet that thing is a handfull. The last one of those I sat in, I could not fit. Knees hit the steering wheel, head over the windshield etc.... I am 6'2". I was going to buy it but just was not in the cards. Love the look though. Sounds like its got all the right stuff.
