The aluminum body is actually made in a former Polish Mig-fighter factory, then shipped to UT for all the underpinnings.

The polished finish is sorta like taking care of a polished aluminum wheel. Soap and water mostly, sometimes some Windex for the harder stuff, and then once a year polish it like wheels, either by hand or buffer. The stripes are brushed aluminum and you just take Brillo pad and go up and down. Not hard at all, just like waxing a car. No paint touch up...ever.

One of the coolest cars I've seen here in a long time. Never see one sans paint like yours and the brushed stripes are awesome. Makes me wonder what other neat cars some of our quieter, non-regular posting Rennlisters have in THEIR garages!

Thx for posting these pics.

Your welcome. Thank you for all the positive comments.

I used to own a Sunbeam Tiger with a Ford 260 in it. I brought my Vette to one of the Tiger club meetings and not one person even batted an eyelash at it. Very surprising. I always think that people who stay with one marque don't appreciate other marques. I have a varied & eclectic taste, and Porsche is near or at the top of the list.

Regarding the "can't be a wallflower" comment, that's an absolute truism. Many people ask if the car was painted chrome, and it attracts a crowd everywhere it goes. You cannot leave it alone, unfortunately.

At the time of the pics, the car had no engine or tranny. The car now has an engine and tranny and the final alignment was yesterday, where they would set final ride height. It will be low enough, trust me.

Here's a few more pics, just in case anyone is interested. One photo has three original 289 and 427 Cobras in the background at the shop. Thank you.

Having only a couple of track days under my belt, I'm scared just looking at it and thinking about the horsepower! Great car.

I plan to careful for a while until I get used to it, since I have driven them before, but not extensively. If I had to guess, the RWHP will be around 500 and so it will be along the lines of a modern equivalent of a 993TT, but obviously with less tire and NOT state of the art suspension. I do plan to take it to the track 1-3 times per year, for Shelby club events.
