OT: Gas price spike, and outages
I'm up late and was watching the news, saw that there were reports of gas outages around the country so I decided to go fill the only car that wasn't already full, the M3. I'm glad I did. I mainly use Exxon due to the ethanol issue and go by 4 other stations to get to it (next to the highway), 2 of those stations had bags on the pumps! When I pulled into the Exxon they had signs on the Reg. and Mid grades but were just taking them down because they said they just got a "small" delivery. She said she didn't expect that to last through mid-morning.
As for prices, damn, they're all over the place. Just quoting Reg. grade it ranged from $3.79 to 4.39, but that's a .30 - .70 jump in about 36 hrs!
This is one time where I think those on the west coast won't be impacted (as much) due to your refineries. For the rest of you, I would suggest you get your gas quickly!

Times like these I'm glad I've got my Vespa GT200! It may not be fast, but it sure is fun pulling into a gas station next to a soccer mom in her Sububan and filling it up with 2 GALLONS!

Be glad you're not pulling in next to a Hockey Mom with Lipstick, your Vespa might be up on the mantel next to the moose....

Shhh, 'free market system' at work: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/0...s/gas_prices_7
Oregon has higher prices than much of the US but I can still find $0.20 price differentials between stations under same brand within a few miles of each other near my house. Does that make sense?
