Default Gumball 3000 Rally

If anyone remembers the 80s film Cannonball run, well the Gumball 3000 is pretty much the real life version of the Cannonball run. Not a timed event, no prize for 1st place, but just fun cracy driving for 3k miles and crazy parties at the end of each stop.

The 1st stop of the Gumball 3000 rally this year was in Los Angeles this past weekend, I think the route is something like SF, LA, SD, LV, N Korea, China for this year.

One of the perks about owning an exotic is that you get invited to an event like this, so I was able to put my Ferrari on display on Hollywood blvd right in front of the Kodak theater where the whole block was closed off for the reception of the Gumball 3000 rally cars.

Here are some pics from this Saturday, there were a good number of RR there of course driven by famouse celebrities. Jonny Knoxville, David Hasselhoff (Nightrider car), and some super rich people from around the world.

Enjoy

Of course we will start with pics of my Ferrari. :P

Big crowd there

Supposely this is the richest youngest person in the world. (Networth like 20 billion, from Russia 30 some odd years old)

A lot of Porsches there

RR

Hot babe from one of the TV shows

Funky looking color on this Ferrari

Jonny Knoxville and the crew

The most exotic rare car there, a Apollo Gumpert

Wow, awesome event - thanks for sharing the photos. Any idea what's planned for SD? When & where?

Wow,

that's a pretty impressive looking diffuser on the rear of the Gumpert.

how do people find out about these events? I wish i could have gone since i live about 5 miles from there. I love watching the videos from some of the rallys and how crazy they are with people getting arrested constantly.

Why do all the cars have decals on them? Is the gumball that corporate? I like that your Ferrari didn't have any decals and the wheels are dirty. Shows you drive it.

Here is their web site http://www.gumball3000.com/

Apprently this was a probably once every 5 year event that comes to the US, prior have been around Europe.

I have only washed my Ferrari once since I bought it 8 month ago and have put over 2500 miles on her.

I saw Kirby there. I was right by where the cars were leaving. Got a good picture of the Hoff.

Have you guys ever heard of the Fireball Run? Similar concept. My company sponsored an autocross event here in the fall. The same company also owns The Great Race, which we are supposed to host in 09.
