I have shipped mine twice and then started driving. Once from Phoenix to Bangor, Maine and then Bangor to Laredo. With that experience I would without reservation recommend driving. It's a great road car and makes the trip-especially the wide open western roads-a blast.

I vote for doing the drive in the 993 with your Wife.

I bought my 1997 993 C2 in March just East of San Diego and drove it with my Wife back to Colorado. It was a great trip, getting to know the car and all.

Boy was I tempted to explore the upper end of the speedo in some of the open areas of Arizona and New Mexico. I only got it up to about 110 and it felt like a "normal" car doing maybe 70. I took the low route since it was March, but would have loved to blast through the mountains on I-70!

If you drive it, it's not out of your hands. Something has to be said for that.

Either way good luck!

You had a chance to drive over some of the most beautiful roads in North America and that was "priceless." Sorry, my 993 might not be in as pristine condition as yours but it was made to be driven.
