Do it! Have you talked to weissach about trading your cars in for the TT?

Sell/dump the 996, keep the 993, and pony up the difference. Live that way for a season and see how you feel. Hold off on $$$ upgrades until you have lived with the car and know what you really want/need regarding the turbo.
FYI, the 993 turbo market is softening daily. I just passed on a really nice 38k mile car with substantial upgrades and excellent maintainence for $54k. That same car in October will be below $50k, I'll wager. Of course, it could sell before that, too.
I think that the gray interior hurts the car you are considering. Kind of like a used off-white leather sofa.

[QUOTE=LA964RS;5666799]You can only drive one car at a time....so get one car.QUOTE]

Exactly. This is why he needs a daily driver and a weekend driver. Am I missing something?

Go for the tt. Whats the point of having a 993NB and a 996 anyways?

I would think that your cars plus $10k could get it done.

54K for a 34k miles turbo, that is a pretty good deal. If you are passing it, mind pm me the information. I would not mind another turbo in my garage.

no kidding, that sounds cheap.

unless its one of these, tranny pops out of 2nd, and goes through 2 quarts every 1000 miles types of "low mile" cars.

That's the problem! In order to get the TT, I've got to dump both of my current rides. I have a lot of time and money in the little blue 993 and it's pretty close to my ideal NB 993(though a 3.8 and RS/CS gearbox would make it even better!). Still thinking about it but the more I do, the more I think that if it was the right thing for me to do I would already have the TT parked in the garage.

Tune in Tuesday for another episode of "Two Cars or TT."

Sounds like if you get the TT you wouldnt drive it as much. If you cant keep the 993 I would stay put.

Sell the 996, then take out a loan for the rest, just do it! In a couple of months you will no longer care.

I hear ya, I didn't want to take out a loan for the C4, it was $10k more then my budget. But I made it happen, & now have a small car loan for 3 years. I could not be any happier, I LOVE having the C4 to jump into any time & not worry about it.

Forget the SY TT. The mileage is too low and I'll bet the price ( given it is a Cdn car ) is out of sight. Go to the US and get a good higher mileage TT there. Prices are dropping like a rock. I looked at the car that Ithatch is talking about last fall and it has dropped $10k since then. My TT has 56k miles on it, is a spectacular car in excellent condition and given what I paid for it and the higher mileage, I do not hesitate to drive it a lot. You will love the TT compared to the 993 NA. The power is intoxicating.

Cars are tough to sell in Canada right now so you may have some issues unloading your other two. But none of this makes any sense economically. Ask my wife. ( Probably the only women in the world who owns 3 P-Cars) Good luck in your decision but get a TT.

By the way, I went looking for a Mini and came home with a US 996 C4S as my daily driver. Nice car but not even close to the TT.

I say don't jump. Take your time. It sounds like you're a fan of NA but want the power that comes from TT, hence your consideration of the GT3? Drive a at least 2 of each car and if you routinely do DE/track days, try to set something up with owner. For a serious buyer, I think most owners would be OK with it. I mean the test drive should be as close as possible to how you will use the car. And true that the 996 do not hold their value as well, but the GT3 is an exception, right? Take your time and feel good about your decision. On the other hand, if you buy either of these cars, then change your mind in the short term, you should be able to get most, if not all your money back.

BTW, what are the 'Ring numbers for 993TT vs 996GT3???

I've jumped out of 2 993s and looked at 996TTs and GT3s.

Whenever I make these kinds of emotional decisions I ask myself if I was in a ___ and saw a ____ would I say, I should have bought that. If you can answer GT3 and 993TT, respectively, then that later is the one you buy.
