Default Front windshield outer seal question

Hey,

I want to try to come to grips with my windshield creak. I want to remove the seal. Does anybody have a picture or diagram of the seal's profile so I can figure out how to remove it without damaging it? (I know, good luck, but still)...

thanks in advance.

Thaddeus,

Think arrow head. The tip of the tongue 'locks' into the groove next to the windshield. Despite pulling my old one out very carefully, a few sections of the tongue ripped off (dry) and were left behind in the groove.

I think a new one is around $40.

Something I've been wanting to do too. There was a recent thread where someone was going to do just this, not sure how far he got on it.

Guess I'd better hurry and order one before there's a run on seals and beer!

Those crazy seals. Only one way to deal with 'em.

Probably. I purchased the large can and only used a small amount.

+1 on the ice wax. Works like a charm, takes all of 10 minutes at most to do. Unless of course you want to replace the seal, then in four months your can do the ice wax treatment to fix the new creak.
