Default Poor handling after LSD instalation

Dear friends,

I just instaled a RS LSD in my EURO 993s because the original LSD was burn out. After this day, handling became quite unpredictable....when you start a turn everything seems ok but when you put the weight in the external wheels the car suddenly turns in....

any help will be appreciated....

thanks a lot

Are you saying that the car is oversteering (i.e. spinning out)? If anything, you should be getting more understeer.

Sounds like the alignment is screwed, or your rear toe is changing under load due to bad suspension bushes ..

HTH, cheers, Maurice

Or you are letting off in the middle of the turn. The RS Differential has a lot of decel lock up, if you are not on the throttle, this is going to induce the lock up on decel and your rear end is going to want to break around. This can be a good thing, as it helps to change your line around the apex, but it can also be a bad as if you are not ready for it, it can bite you in the butt.

Sound about right?

I would have to agree with Maurice on this one. I would bet the rear alignment is incorrectly set after the job was done. I don't think the rear links or bushings suddenly failed. I have seen some cars come in where the eccentrics were marked before they were removed and reassembled with the marks realigned. While this may get your alignment close to where it was, the rear toe on that car needs to be spot on...close may not be good enough in this case. I would have the alignment of all four wheel checked before I condemned any parts. Good luck, Jerry

I was thinking along the same lines provided the trans/eng was dropped for the diff install.

Question to the original poster -- was the whole engine/trans lump dropped for the diff install?
