I wouldn't be so quick to sell my car for the "Euro" premium, which probably amounts to an extra $10,000 over what it would otherwise be worth.
What would I do if I sold it? I might consider a new 997, but the $10,000 I just made will be lost in depreciation on the new car in a matter of months. Plus (and more importantly), one can always buy a "new" model...But they aren't making 993's any more. And, to me, the 993 is a more interesting car to keep for the long haul for the reasons we all know well (last of the air-cooled, looks, sound, link to the past...etc. etc.)
Now, if I could get say twice what it is worth domestically, that might be another story, but I don't think the market is that crazy or the dollar is that weak (yet).

I asked in China at a small dealership the cost of a Cayman. The answer: 1,000,000 yuan. That's
about $US150,000. THis is a base Cayman. There wasn't anyone there to ask about a 993 and I
don't know if they'd even know what it is. Maybe it would be Y1,000,000, maybe Y2,000,000, maybe
they'd give you $50. That market is very driven by perception as opposed to value.

I have to add that it looks quite complicate to export the car with the customs in Usa and pay taxes here..That make me stop with that transaction. Finally i m going to pay the same here, for the same car!..So, don't worry guys.
But the dolar is weak that's for sure!.

I am waiting for mine that comes out of the US. And I tell you there is nothing like home sweet home for the Porsche's. And of course I want to show the 993 Zuffenhausen. LOL

Well you know how to get my attention: SPEEDLINES!!! Did you change the overall width as well or just the offsets? What are the widths/offsets as pictured? Any other mods in the pipeline?

Such cars in China however are usually obtained from the black market, and won't have a clean title. Not that it matters anyway, I rode a Yamaha R1 with no title during my two years in Beijing, and 100RMB to the officers was usually enough to fix the issue "temporarily". (Sport bikes in Beijing are frequently stolen from HK and transported North.)

China is crazy about Buicks right now, which is so weird. Hong Kong is obviously another story. They have the most Rolls Royces per capita. I love that city--can't wait to visit my family there again!
As for OEM RS Speedlines, I bought a set for my new-to-me 993, and they are being refurbished. Can't wait to get them!

Are you saying a 993 that sells for USD40,000 in the US sells for
25,000 euros in Switzerland ? Or 40,000 euros? I think it's probably north
of 40,000 euros.
