Finally... 1st day at Mosport, more pics to come. I took this pic just as they decided to empty the sh*tters up on the hill. Needless to say everyone got back on the track asap .
At the end of the day the Radical (with Mark Wilkins at the wheel) ended up with a hole in the block (? cap, bolt, rod) and then promptly caught on fire .
I elected to go with a Rothsport G50 shifter. Absolute work of art, will post pics tomorrow.
Will tackle the headliner and sunroof motor removal this week. Removed 95% of the engine sound pad without dropping the motor. I'll get the rest of it when I pull the airbox to remove the rear decklid struts.
RS adjustable sways are sitting in the garage - waiting for the Paul Guard LSD (and resultant understeer) before putting them in.
I'm also thinking of drilling out the impact bumpers a la Bill V. Thoughts...?
Car ran best laps of 1:41 at Mosport first day out. Second day best laps in the 1:40s. Figure with an good LSD and some more suspension tuning - and further driver development - the car should be good for high 1:30s.
Great progress Matt. What exactly do you mean by Rothsport G50 shifter? Is that a SSK? Are you installing the Shaw SR LW panel or keeping the OE? Do you have any idea how much the reinforcements weigh?
Mmm, yes... lexan. Worth a few pounds, but in the right spot. Perhaps on the winter list .
Louis,
Talking to Mike about the CF sunroof plug. Probably another thing on the winter list. The shifter is made by Jeff Gamroth of Rothsport. Yet another Steve W. connection (thx Steve). It's a 2-piece ssk, shorter throw than the RS, but requires a firm touch. If you go with this, PM me for installation tips (i.e. you'll need to adjust the static rod). Crappy pic below from my car. I assume you'll put this on your next 993 build list.....
