Default Repair rear vinyl cabriolet window

My rear window craked. It was about 45 degrees out, but the top creased in a weird way, and POP. Anyway, I am not prepared to replace the top just yet and I do NOT want to put "duck" tape on the crack. Can I get a piece of vinyl material from somewhere and glue a patch over the crack?

You should be able to have a shop stitch in a new plastic window

For a temporary patch try clear packing tape on both sides. Very sticky and clear.

man i feel bad for you. i did the same thing as a new cab owner - i read only after the fact about the f*ing temperature warning...

is the car insured? a Rennlister tipped me off and i ran it past my insurance and they covered a whole new top!! less the deductable... that was a good outcome.

Default possible repair over replace.

I went to West Marine's web site. They sell a clear vinyl glue and sheets of vinyl in various thicknesses. Of course, they sell it by 54" by 3' segments, but maybe I can get a smaller scrap piece at a store.

I figure I might glue a few strips across the window to encourage it to fold properly. We'll see. I'll let you know how the repair goes when I get around to it. Might be a few weeks.

If you are going to try a quick fix just to get by, why not try some clear vinyl like the clear bra material?
